Dick Daniels (2009) is a :60 spot I improvised as an in-class exercise. I came to class with a general idea of a tracking reveal as the basis for a 16mm commercial about shooting on 16mm, but what the fake film was going to be wasn't decided until the class started. In four hours, the dialogue, characters, props, and lighting were realized in eight takes for three shots.

Watch (2008) is an experimental short I made for one of my weekly assignments, which was to create a reveal. This was conceived, written, shot, and edited in less than a week.

Connect (2007) was my first ambitious project, and consequently my first colossal failure. The idea was to make an experimental narrative, starting at birth and ending at death, transitioning from one important stage in one person's life cycle to a later stage in someone else's life cycle. About half the scenes worked well, of which this Birth scene is the only one that satisfies me fully.

Glitch (2008) can be best described as a happy accident. My original yearlong project was The Lagoon, which became increasingly impossible to realize due to increasing conflict between the schedules of the actors and the availability of the location. In the end, I was forced to abandon it three weeks before the project was due because I had not been able to secure shooting dates, and I found myself with the daunting task of making and completing a new project in less than a month. I wrote a script practically overnight, threw some friends in front of my personal camera, and shot the film in between classes. I finished editing the night before it was due.
